Technical Background:
To achieve the near-sunlight readability effect with
ATM6448C-NLW-FBD,
AZ Displays uses a method of “active” sunlight readability enhancement
performed at its state-of-the-art Class 100 clean room facility in
California. This technique, which involves adding LED lamps to the
backlight and increasing the backlight output to 700 cd/m2 (nits), is
superior to in-cell transflective color LCDs from competitors (because
transflective TFT displays are limited only to small sizes of up to 4”
in diagonal and offer a reduced color saturation) and superior to
“passive” enhancement methods (via brightness-increasing and
glare-reducing films, also offered by our organization).
Examples of Applications:
ATM6448C-NLW-FBD can be used for a wide variety of applications to
display both full-motion video content and simple graphics (bar graphs,
still pictures, or menus). Such applications include avionics products,
industrial controls, automated teller machines, medical equipment, etc.
A rather slim profile of only 6.4 (+/-0.3) mm makes ATM6448C-NLW-FBD
suitable for hand-held instruments. (See our wide screen LCD model
